JTI is a leading international company with a proud history in Germany. We look back at more than hundred years of tobacco tradition. Our origins stretch back to 1908 when Haus Neuerburg was founded, one of the very first cigarette factories in Trier. Today, we are the largest private employer in the region.

Around 1800 employees at our factory and research & development center with global functions in Trier are committed to ensuring our products are of the highest quality – from tobacco purchasing, leaf blending all the way through to the manufacture and packaging of the finished product.
More than 100 people work from our Cologne office, listening to German consumers and meeting their demands through innovative products such as Winston Volume Tobacco and Camel Essential – the very first ‘additive free’ cigarettes in Germany. Nationwide, our sales-force comprises around 190 employees who foster relationships with our retail trade partners, helping them to build their business as we grow ours.
