Working at JTI Iberia

JTI’s international culture fully combines the Asian heritage with the western entrepreneurial spirit.

Our Asian heritage of being precise, quality-driven, and thinking long-term, perfectly complements the dynamism and creativity of our western culture.

This productive balance is at the heart of our business culture and reflects the way we interact with society, in the value that we provide to people, inside and outside JTI, as well as in the way we understand business.

We focus on our strengths and celebrate who we are, having a shared ambition to aim higher, to think bigger, to make a difference and create a better future for our consumers and ourselves.

A future without borders

In Iberia, we are the fastest growing tobacco company, with more than 900 employees from over 30 nationalities located in Spain Mainland, Canary Islands, Portugal, and Andorra.

One of JTI’s main approaches is to foster employees' professional development through different programs such as STAs (Short-Term Assignments) where employees have the chance to be deployed to another market, within Iberia or JTI markets, and experience a cross-functional immersion within their own expertise or even enlarge their career path.

WHY JTI?

Discover the reason why

We care about our people, and we make a difference with them. We have been awarded with Top Employer, GES (Global Equality Standard), and EFR (Empresa Familiarmente Responsable) certificates in Spain, Portugal and Andorra.

Following 11 consecutive years of certification, in 2024 we have been certified again as a TOP EMPLOYER, being considered the 5th best company to work for in Spain, the 2nd in Portugal, and in Andorra we are the only company with this award. The EFR certificate endorses our strong focus on the work-life balance and well-being of our people.

We have a wholesome benefits catalogue to offer, including 20 weeks of parental leave irrespective of gender, location, and sexual orientation; as well as our IKIGAI program.

And when it comes to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) we speak about Gender Equality, LGBTIQ+ community, empowerment, freedom, and authenticity. From JTI Iberia we embrace, encourage, and protect those values, thanks to them we can achieve the best version of ourselves, while building a strong community.

IKIGAI: OUR IBERIA WELLBEING PROGRAM

Ikigai is a Japanese concept that defines the key to happiness in life and work. It is a sign of JTI's raison d'être. JTI aims to encourage an active life for body and mind among employees, as well as to promote healthy lifestyle habits and the possibility of personal and professional growth through training.

Our program has 4 pillars: Work environment, financial, physical, and emotional well-being.

How we work at JTI Iberia

JTI continues to evolve and innovate in ways of working to ensure that the lives of all our employees are as enriching and satisfying as possible. For some time now, we have seen major changes in flexible working thanks to the widespread use of the WoW (Ways of Working) Iberians model.

What is WoW Iberian?

WoW is an initiative aimed at attracting and retaining talent, largely by removing many of the barriers and management styles of the past and bringing them in line with a modern multigenerational workforce.

Based on mutual trust, WoW involves working differently by focusing on performance and outcomes, not hours spent in the office, viewing work as an activity and not a place or fix schedule.

While we do not see ourselves working as a remote-only company, we will not go back to the traditional ways of working and, instead, we have landed on a hybrid approach. By leveraging technologies and through the availability of flexible work arrangements, JTI wants to instill more inclusive, diverse, and productive workspaces that suit both the needs of organizations and individuals.

This way we prioritize the need for our employees to have a better work-life balance, as their wellbeing is key to their professional performance.

All this is reflected in our offices and working dynamics, where JTI Iberia fosters a more inclusive and productive workspace with open and common areas, where the exchange of ideas and concentration spots are combined in both a professional and entertaining way. With recreational spaces for our employees to disconnect from work and foster interaction, JTI Iberia’s new workplaces are designed to better suit the new needs of both, the company, and the employee.

We are firmly committed to the creation of quality employment, ensuring above-average working conditions, offering our team not only competitive remuneration but also a wide range of social benefits, flexibility, work-life balance and modern and collaborative workspaces, creating the right context to keep growing in their careers and journeys in JTI.
