Our presence in the U.S.A. dates back to 1981, when the Company’s brands were launched through a trading company in the market. Recognizing the potential in the U.S. market, JT International U.S.A., Inc. (JTI U.S.A.) was established in 1986.

Across the US, JTI is a company that customers, suppliers, distributors, and farmers can rely upon.

Today, JTI in the USA is a total tobacco company with 2 primary businesses: JTI USA, marketing and selling our global flagship brand LD, as well as, Wave, Wings and Export ‘A’; and Logic Technology Development (Logic), a category leader in vapor products.

Since launching the LD brand, JTI USA’s market share has grown quickly, with LD becoming a TOP 10 Brand in the US in 2023.

JTI Leaf Services (JTI LS) LLC in Danville, Virginia, was founded as a JTI joint venture for the procurement and processing of U.S. leaf tobacco. Established in 2010, it supplies JTI exclusively with directly contracted U.S. leaf tobacco, renowned globally for its high quality and rich flavor. In 2011, the Company established itself as an industry leader in processing at its state-of-the-art facility.

JTI LS currently employs more than 60 full-time employees and hires more than 250 seasonal workers for tobacco processing each year.

In 2024, JTI announced an expansion at the Danville Facility adding over 100 new fulltime positions.
