Yuya started his career within the JT Group in Japan in 2010, transferred to JTI and moved to Geneva in 2016. It felt life changing. From language to culture and ways of working, everything was new. What made a difference and helped with the move was the support and assistance from his colleagues, who quickly became Yuya’s circle of friends. Thanks to this network and the culture of trust in his team, Yuya was able to quickly adapt and grow within his role. At JTI, our leadership mindset is focused on trusting and empowering each employee to develop and thrive throughout their career. As an Innovation Manager, Yuya oversees the development of new products and is part of the team that imagines and engineers solutions. "The process of learning and thinking about what we can do for the future is the most exciting part for me," he says.
With this forward-looking outlook, at JTI, we always strive for progress and at the same time are committed towards a more sustainable tomorrow. So far, we've reduced our CO2 emissions by 27%, waste by 15% and water use by 16%. We've cut our energy consumption by 5%, and of the energy we do use, 30% comes from renewable sources. And we're not stopping there. Step by step, we're incorporating sustainability into everything we do.
