In 2018 JTI expanded and strengthen its business in the world by establishing its first cigarette factory in South America. This fact adds to the need of our consumers in this region, with the initial focus directed to Brazil and, afterwards, the other countries in the continent.
Bringing a cigarette factory to Brazil, the company is making clear its intention to confront and overcome all the challenges that the industry is facing worldwide, confident in its expertise and credentials in the sector, as well as in the local receptivity to the enterprise.
The installation of the factory is one more step in strengthening our relationship with Brazil, which started with the acquisition of the tobacco processing plant, followed by the sale cigarettes and the acquisition of an extensive distribution network, capable of ensuring deliveries throughout the country.
Therefore, JTI can achieve, in a global level, its first complete operational system for tobacco, all in the same place. A sole country holds the production and purchase of raw material for processing and even manufacture of cigarettes and its sale.
JTI becomes more solid in its goal of serving the market and consumers well, where the possibility of rapidly responding to new needs of customers is essential. This demands less time that usual and, what is essential, always keeping the same international quality standards.
JTI has successfully expanded its global operations with the establishment of its first Cigarette Factory in South America. This strategic move reflects the company’s commitment to overcoming the challenges facing the sector worldwide while delivering high-quality products that meet the evolving needs of consumers. Driven by the Integrated Work Systems (IWS) and directed by the global MGSM, our factory operates at the forefront of innovation and efficiency. With a strong focus on safety, sustainability, quality, and operational excellence, it embodies JTI’s dedication to continuous improvement. Today, we are already reaping the rewards of this successful implementation, positioning ourselves for long-term growth and success in the region."
