On the way to create a better future in everything we do, Community Investment plays a crucial role.

In Kazakhstan we focus on projects that help make communities more inclusive and resilient. Engaging employees in volunteering activities is also one of the priorities for our markets within our Community Investment strategy.

We realize 10 long-standing Community Investment projects with over 10.000 beneficiaries annually, including volunteering activities with 350-400 working hours donated by over 150 employees.

Projects supported by JTI within Community Investment (highlights):

Kazakhstan

  • First inclusion theater in Kazakhstan “The Action Literally”, which professionally and institutionally deals with the socialization and development of people with special needs through theatrical methods and technologies. JTI has supported this initiative since 2018.

  • Creation of standards of “Tutor” profession. The developed standards of profession will be available to all families who need tutor support, organizations that hire people with special needs. They will also help society understand how a tutor can help in the development of a person with special needs. The project is implemented by the Center for Social and Inclusion Programs, Almaty.

  • Sustainable development and conservation of biodiversity of Karasu lake implemented by Ecological Fund of Development of Almaty since 2024

  • Japanese Spring International Festival of Arts implemented by Degdar foundation since 2011
