Seeing much potential for growth in the Philippine market and wider Asia Pacific region, we established a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the country in 2017.
Our Asia Manufacturing Corp. (JTI-AMC) plant is one of the primary manufacturing hubs in the region currently servicing the product requirements of 23 global entities including the Philippines.
Located in a special economic zone accredited by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), our factory occupies 13 hectares of land within the Lima Technology Center in Malvar, Batangas and currently employs around 800 people.
The plant has one of the largest roof-mounted solar panel systems for self-consumption in the Philippines, utilizing more than 17,000 photovoltaic solar panels that cover over 27,000 square meters of roof area. The technology enables us to utilize a renewable energy source while at the same time reduce our carbon footprint.
In 2020, we gained cost savings through the solar panels installed in our factory as well as reduced CO2 emissions.
The shift to using renewable energy is in line with our goal of fostering a workplace that is sustainable and environment friendly. We believe that we have a strong role to play in fulfilling the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has twice recognized our factory as the ‘Most Outstanding Employer’ (2019, 2021) and also presented us with the ‘Most Outstanding Community Project’ award in 2021 for the first time.
The award signifies the efforts of JTI-AMC in generating employment as well as strengthening our employee relations, talent and skills development, health and safety, and improving the overall welfare of our workforce.
