We are dedicated to uplist the lives of people with disabilities across the country. In 2023, we embarked on a mission to deliver a total of 630 assistive devices to communities in need. With each assistive device distributed such as tricycles, white canes and prostatic leg aim to bring freedom and mobility, give confidence to navigate the world safely and enable owners to reclaim their independence.
Our support doesn't stop at providing physical aids. We recognize the importance of education and inclusivity, especially for disabled students in universities. In 2023, we distributed 100 noise-cancelling headphones, 10 special laptops equipped with accessibility features, 200 voice recorders and 10 braille machines. These items help students with various disabilities to focus better on their studies and excel academically.
Through these efforts, TCC not only provided essential tools but also fostered a sense of community and support. Each device, each gesture, is a step towards a better future that us inclusive and equitable.
Through our economic empowerment initiatives, we support elder youth and women in their income-generating activities.
We have distributed 140 tailoring machines to women entrepreneurs. We also distributed 150 modern beehives to 10 groups, fostering a new wave of beekeeping entrepreneurship. This venture open doors to new markets for young entrepreneurs.
Through TCC Fanikisha Biashara, we supported 15 groups in Tanga with knowledge and capital boost which means a significant increase in their start-ups’ production capacity and earnings. The support transformed their small enterprises, making their hard work more profitable and sustainable.
We have established a weaving center in Mbeya, a lush highland city known for its rich cultural heritage. This center provided elder youth and women with the tools and training needed to weave beautiful fabrics. The weaving center will create self-employment opportunities for many and provide a steady income for their families.
Through these efforts, TCC provides essential tools and training and also instil a sense of pride and independence among the beneficiaries. The initiatives transform lives, boost local economies, and foster a spirit of community and resilience.
Annually we host a clean-up event whereas in 2023 help a beach clean-up event “Clean-up, Conserve the Ocean” at Pweza beach, Kigamboni. Organized by TCC Plc, the event saw hundreds of participants combing the beach, picking up litter, and sorting recyclables, all with a shared mission to protect their beloved coastline.
In a broader clean-up campaign to protect our natural environment, we annual upcycle empty glue drums into trash bins whereas 306 were strategically scattered across Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, reminding everyone of the importance of keeping their environment clean.
Our environmental efforts extend beyond clean up initiatives. We distributed 3,000 avocado tree seedlings to youth groups in Mbeya, envisioning a future where the avocados would provide both nourishment and income. Through these efforts, we strengthen our commitment to environmental conservation and community empowerment, creating a better future for all.
