For over fifteen years we have been working with some of the UK’s leading charities to improve the quality of life and enhance opportunities for excluded adults.
OrchLab is an innovative, award-winning project, delivered by our long-term community partner, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, which supports music-making with disabled adults through workshops, accessible technology, a bespoke website and training and events.
Through OrchLab, Daniel has really developed his musical skills and confidence to try something new over the last year.
It’s the learning to do stuff and opening your mind to new things. Doing new things for me is refreshing. It’s an achievement. It’s what you need to do in life.
I feel more confident, to get outside and to get to the next level.
Our employee-led committees make a difference in their communities through partnering with local charities which support excluded adults.

Jackie Shury, Entity Finance Improvement Manager, has taken on the role of Chair after playing an active role in the Putney Community Committee for six years.
Taking on the role of Putney community committee chair has been a privilege. I love working with the rest of the committee to have a positive impact in the communities close to our Putney office and it has been really interesting to meet with local charities and learn more about social issues facing the community. My role on the committee gives me the opportunity to work with different people from around the business and to develop my line management skills.
Our employees volunteer their time to help others and raise funds for causes they care about, contributing to their local communities whilst developing valuable skills to take back to the workplace.
Every JTI UK employee can dedicate 50 working hours each year to volunteer with charities which promote inclusion or protect the environment.
Marwa Rashidi, Merchandising Solutions Executive, volunteers as a Client Support Adviser to support people to find a pathway out of homelessness.
Volunteering my time to help people who are vulnerably housed or experiencing homelessness is very fulfilling. I speak with clients to understand their situation, and then offer advice and connect them to the services they require. The role is completely different to my day job, so i’m learning and developing new skills whilst supporting people in need. It’s hugely rewarding and i value that jti encourages employees to volunteer in our communities.
35% of UK employees participate in our Payroll Giving scheme, donating £79,000 in 2024 to good causes, once matched by JTI. Our employees’ generosity won us the highest payroll giving accreditation for the 18th consecutive year.
Our sustainability approach follows the direction set by our corporate purpose towards creating a better future, focusing on our products and wider society, including people and planet. Click below to read about how responsible business is embedded throughout the work of our UK business.
