The JTI Foundation Invests $1.83 Million to Bring Clean Water and Sanitation to Over 80,000 People in Vietnam

Aiming to improve the quality of life for vulnerable communities, the JTI Foundation (JTIF) has announced an investment of up to $1.83 million to implement Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects in Vietnam for the 2025–2027 period. Through collaboration with reputable organizations such as Habitat for Humanity Vietnam (Habitat Vietnam) and East Meets West (EMW), the program expects to provide practical support, improving health and living conditions for over 80,000 people in rural areas.

As part of this meaningful campaign series, on October 15, 2025, Habitat Vietnam officially launched the project "Sustainable Clean Water and Sanitation for Vulnerable Communities in Central and Southern Vietnam". This specific project is being implemented from March 2025 to December 2027.

The program aims to directly benefit 3,949 households, equivalent to approximately 19,745 people. The beneficiary areas include Tra Doc, Tra Giap, and Phuoc Tra communes (Da Nang City) along with Hoa Thuan, Hoa Hung, and Giong Rieng communes (An Giang Province). The core activities of the project will focus on renovating and upgrading water supply systems and building sanitation facilities. Additionally, the project will organize training courses to raise public awareness about the habit of using clean water and practicing proper hygiene.

Sharing about these community efforts, Ms. Ho Linh Lan, Corporate Affairs & Communications Director of JTI Vietnam, stated that the global WASH initiative has been deployed by the JTI Foundation since 2019 with the goal of bringing safe water and better sanitation conditions to 1 million vulnerable people worldwide.

"Vietnam holds a special place in this journey," Ms. Lan emphasized. "We believe that access to clean water and sanitation not only helps improve health and quality of life but also opens up development opportunities for people and communities, contributing to building a safer, more sustainable, and better future for everyone."

The clean water development project in collaboration with Habitat Vietnam and East Meets West is another testament to JTI's commitment to sustainable community investment in Vietnam. Previously, the enterprise also made its mark through many other meaningful projects, such as: cooperating with Habitat Vietnam to support housing solutions for households affected by natural disasters in Quang Nam, and accompanying the Gaia Nature Conservation Center in tree planting, forest restoration, and biodiversity protection programs in Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, and more. These efforts all aim towards the net-zero emissions goal and creating a better future.
