As part of JTI our roots in Austria stretch back more than 240 years to 1784, when Emperor Joseph II founded the “Österreichische Tabakregie”. This rich heritage, combined with our Japanese origins, continues to shape who we are today.

Today, around 500 people work for JTI in Austria. Our employees are based at our Vienna headquarters, in our nationwide field force, and at the ÖKOLAB research and development laboratories in Vienna Ottakring. In addition, TOB, our independent wholesale business, with its new logistics center in Lower Austria are an integral part of our operations.
