Policy Statement of JT International Germany GmbH on the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act

In the event of any indication of potential breaches/violations against human and environmental rights, laws and JT International Germany GmbH rules and regulations, you can contact us using the above-mentioned contact details.

For JT International Germany, it is of paramount importance that codes and principles of conduct, human rights, environmental laws and all other valid legislation are adhered to as we know that this is the key to our company’s success. We believe in the ethical behaviour, honesty and personal integrity of our employees and want each and every one of them to assume responsibility for their behaviour. However, should this ever be in doubt, you have the possibility of reporting this to us through an independent body. Please help us comply with our corporate responsibility and report the facts to us in the first instance.

Firstly, we would like to let our in-house staff know that they – regardless of the grievance/issue they are confronted with – are always encouraged to report the potential grievance/issue to their superior, their People & Culture business partner or the legal department relevant to them.

And we would also like to encourage all persons with information to initially contact us before consulting with outside public bodies. Because we have the quickest and best possibilities for remedying grievances/issues. We guarantee confidentiality for whistleblowers and discretion for all persons mentioned in reports.

Following submission of a report, you will receive a confirmation of receipt with further information and – no later than three months from receipt of your report – a status report outlining what has been done with regards to this matter and the potential measures that have been initiated. In the best-case scenario, we will already be able to provide you with a closing report.

We are focused on processing reports in an impartial manner and will examine how many facts can be deduced from the report and whether these constitute breaches/violations of the rules and regulations or the law. Reports can also be submitted anonymously, although we would prefer you to disclose your identity if possible. If possible, we will contact you for the purpose of exchanging further information. On request, we will communicate with you by telephone or e-mail and, if you believe it to be prudent, we can also meet up with you personally on-site or off-site. In all cases, we will maintain the necessary discretion in the event that you request this. You will only be looked after by lawyers and fully-qualified in-house counsel with whom you can also discuss your personal situation.

JTI protects whistleblowers. Those submitting a report with honest intentions and to the best of their knowledge and conscience need not fear reprisals. Retaliatory measures against persons reporting an issue in good conscience or who are providing assistance in the reporting or investigating of grievances/issues are a serious breach against statutory whistleblower legislation.
