Works starting in Spring 2012: Day-care center project confirmed
Geneva (February 6. 2012) – Japan Tobacco International (JTI) today announced that the building works of its new international headquarters in Geneva will begin in spring 2012. The local authorities granted the final construction permit on December 9, 2011. The company also confirmed the construction of a 105 capacity day-care center on part of the site.
"We are delighted to have completed these two milestones and are pleased with the progress of this flagship project for JTI and for the economy in Geneva," said Paul Bourassa, member of JTI's Executive Committee, noting that the company has been based in Geneva for more than 45 years. The move to the new offices is planned for 2015.
"The day-care center project is extremely important to us, as it will make the day-to-day lives of many of our employees much easier," added Tony Gomez, who is heading the project for JTI. He also stressed, "We are happy to announce that the City of Geneva will use a quota of places, which will be communicated at a later stage."
