We believe everyone should have equal opportunities - regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, age or background.
We may all have our differences, but everyone deserves access to the same opportunities. Diversity is a strength that we use to build an inclusive and equitable environment where everyone can thrive.
That’s why we put tangible actions into place to guide us towards the ongoing creation of equal opportunities for all.
We’re one of the first companies to receive Ernst & Young’s Global Equality Standard (GES) certificate, in 2021 and again in 2024.
Achieving this recognition was no small feat. Over three months, we underwent a rigorous assessment, reviewing 200+ pieces of evidence, consulting 25 subject matter experts, gathering insights from nearly 100 employees, and engaging in in-depth interviews with our global leadership. A true testament to our commitment to equality!
Together with Ernst & Young, we created a tool to assess our Equal Pay status globally. After the first assessment we learned that 70% of our markets do have equal pay status. Now, we are working on getting the other 30% up to speed too.
Our focus on ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion is woven into our culture, processes, and operations is paying off. This certification gives us even more energy to carry on our DEI journey, by always looking to improve ourselves. We are fully aware that we can always do better.
There are moments in life when you just wish for more time. We understand how important it is to be there for your loved ones, especially when starting or growing a family. You don’t want to miss those key moments, and we don’t want you to miss them either. That’s why we introduced our equal family leave policy.
All genders and sexual orientations are celebrated and supported.
All paths to parenthood, whether through birth, adoption, or surrogacy, are equally valued and respected.
All parents have adequate and equal time and more flexibility to bond with their child.
Our "Plus one" concept is part of our Permanent Transfer Program and is designed to ensure flexibility and inclusivity, aligning with our strong principles around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. This concept is reflected in the calculation of the arrival allowance in the Permanent Transfer Program. This way, all types of partnerships - single parents, unmarried and/or same-sex couples - can benefit from the allowances as well.
At JTI, we have surpassed our 30% target for women in leadership positions and we are striving for more. To achieve an equally gendered leadership pipeline, we have created the LIFT program in 2020 through which all our top 20 global leaders sponsor senior women’s careers.
Our “Grow She Can” STEM Women Internship Program creates real pathways in engineering and production. Our first cohort of 13 talented graduates are receiving dedicated mentoring and direct access to leadership through innovation workshops.
At JTI, we encourage open conversations to help making the adjustments employees need to thrive.
With over 1,500 colleagues self-identifying as living with a disability, it's important to understand the unique challenges and opportunities each person faces. Our disability framework aims to help quick start the conversation.
Every disability is unique, which means there's no one-size-fits-all approach to inclusion. This diversity enriches our organization with a wide range of experiences and perspectives.
Through promoting clear communication, we can better understand individual needs and ensure equitable access and support where needed.
